It also plays an important role in biological and chemical processes.<\/p><h5><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Sources of Nitrite in Water<\/strong><\/span><\/h5><p>1- Decomposition of Organic Matter: It can result from the decomposition of organic matter in aquatic or soil environments.<\/p><p>\u00a0\u06f2- Sewage: The entry of industrial or domestic wastewater into water sources can increase the concentration of this compound.<\/p><p>\u00a0\u06f3- Nitrogenous Fertilizers: The use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture may lead to the leakage of nitrite into groundwater and surface water.<\/p><h5><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>How to store the sample?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5><p>In order to prevent bacterial conversion of NO<sub>2<\/sub><sup>&#8211;<\/sup> to NO<sub>3<\/sub><sup>&#8211;<\/sup>, it should be analyzed as soon as possible. Do not use acid for sample preservation. For short-term storage for 1 to 2 days, freeze at -20\u00b0C or store at 4\u00b0C.<\/p><h5><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Sample measurement method<\/strong><\/span><\/h5><p>It is measured colorimetrically using a spectrophotometer. It is determined by the formation of a reddish-purple azo dye at a pH of about 2. The spectrophotometric range is 10 to 1000 \u03bcg\/L. The colorimetric system follows the Beer-Lambert law with a 1 cm light path at 543 nm. Higher concentrations of NO<sub>2<\/sub><sup>&#8211;<\/sup> can be determined by diluting a sample.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section
